The Pursgloves of Alsop en le Dale - [AELD]

This place started as a small farming community situated near to Ashbourne and Dovedale.  The Norman church of St. Michael and All Angels was refurbished in the 19th century to serve the villages of Alsop Moor, Cold Eaton and Newton Grange.

Having had a railway line, the village is now close to the Tissington Trail along the disused line.  This agricultural area relies heavily on tourism with hiking and country walking as well as cycling.

Mary Pursglove [602], daughter of Henry and Sarah, bapt. 2/2/1845
