The Pursgloves of Heanor

Heanor and Lascoe are in the Amber Valley situated near Shipley and Langley Mill.  It is close to the River Erewash in the Amber Valley and is an established market town.

This was a textile town which shifted to coal mining in the 19th Century.  St Lawrence's Church is at the centre of the town near the market square.


Samuel Pursglove [704] of South Wingfield married Mary Stanley on 10/7/1831
  Samuel Flint Pursglove was born in 1800.  The family lived at Cotmanhay, Ripley and then Ely in Cambridgeshire.
