Francis Pursglove as the son of Henry Pursglove and Martha Smedley.  He and his first wife, Mary, lived with her parents for most of their married life.  Mary died on 31 July 1846 and was buried at Youlgreave All Saints church.  Francis remarried to Hannah Marsden within a year of the death of Mary, his first wife..
