The Pursgloves of Winster - [WINS]
Winster lies just to the West of Matlock. It was originally a lead mining village and has now developed an agricultural economy. The church of St John the Baptist holds a week long carnival in June called the Winster Wakes. Winster was a small hamlet in 1086, owned by Henry de Ferrers. |
