Pursgloves in Perth, Western Australia
This part of Australia has been inhabited by the Whadjuk Noongar around the Upper Swan River for over 40,000 years. The land upon which Perth is built is known locally as Boorloo and the modern settlement was started after 1827.
Perth is now the largest City in Western Australia. It is the administrative centre for the region and supports the mining petroleum and agricultural industries in the surrounding towns.
